KissGoodbye to 2-0-1-0!!

Dear 2010,
I know that you ain't gonna take a U-turn and help me relive my moments because I know you CAN'T. You came, you are leaving, and you will be gone real soon. Damn, I am going to miss you so much. But, don't worry, I won't leave everything behind me for I have had numerous memories throughout the year, be it sweet or bitter. I have made alot of mistakes, yet I am not going to plunge into remorse, but I will take them as lessons well learnt. I have experienced frustration and devastation but at the same time, I have learnt to see beyond the dark clouds and wait for the hidden rainbow to shine with a shimmer of hope. Apart from that, I have also came to realize who my good friends are, and whom are not. I am so grateful for the friendship bonds that I forged with some amazing people that perpetually brightened my days and kept me going through tough times. Thank you so much for all the fun, joy, laughter and great company when I needed them the most. The whole year has been great and I am so glad to have made it through with a smile on my face. The year 2010 will always be imprinted and inscribed in my mind.

Well, now that 2011 is nearing, I am not going to waste my time making ambitious plans which will ultimately turn out to be nothing but a grandiose resolution. I am just going to go with the flow, and live life like I always do. In fact, a new phase of life awaits me, and I am so excited to embark on a new journey to a place where I will be able to experience this world as a new place once again. Perhaps, I will give more priorities to my studies, do more charity and EAT LESS MEAT!! :)) In short, make more use of my presence in this world. How about you?

HAPPPPPYYY NEW YEARR!!!! :))

NEW haircut :)

Okie, I got a new haircut. I don't know if that's what I wanted, in fact, I wasn't really sure of what kinda haircut I wanted. I just knew I wanted to do something to my hair! I just walked into the saloon, told the hairdresser something, and she chopped my hair off! I don't know if it looks nice, but it feels good, my head feels quite light! :) I think I look like a punk kid but surprisingly, my mum liked it and told me that she wants to get that hairstyle too. LOL!  That's weird! Ive got some pics, but they are quite blur and trust me, pictures are deceiving! :P

RAISE YOU HAND, STOP CHILD ABUSE!

Okay, here it goes! Children have as much right as us, as everyone else, be it adult, youth or teenager. They have freedom from fear, freedom from violence, freedom from pain and injury, freedom from abuse and freedom to lead a happy life. But, who knows what the reality is like for the unfortunate ones? You may not even know that up to seven children are being abused every 24 hours in Malaysia alone, and these numbers are increasing at an alarming rate! In fact, these are only the reported cases, while the rest go unreported and are being swept under the carpet even by those who are aware of it, those who can put an end to it. These poor children continue to suffer and live a life full of pain and agony, life that no one would wish to have and no one has ever imagined. They are weak individuals left to fend for themselves.

Child abuse ain't a small matter. It may jeopardize their life, their psychology and their development and, rob them of their dignity and good health. They may suffer physically, as well as mentally with silent tears. You don't want to see that happen, don't you? So, common, show your support now and help change the lives of many children in ways that you will never know.
The United Nation Children's Fund(UNICEF) launched its Digital Campaign against Child Abuse and Neglect and they need 100000 people to support them in their effort to end child abuse. You can play a part to help support the cause by creating awareness. All you have to do is just log on to http://www.uniteagainstabuse.my/act/register and personalize a hand template of your own and write a message on it. You can then help spread these messages to your family and friends, and get them to create their hand template as well. You can view the gallery of supporters HERE

Apart from that, you can also create awareness by learning more about child abuse from the website, and help educate and inform others who are close to you. If you suspect any child abuse around you, DON'T hesitate to report it at 15999. Have a heart, stand up against child abuse, and give these children the opportunity to embrace the life that they deserve. Put a smile on their face, it's priceless :)

HOLIDAY with OHANA ;)

Spending a week of holiday at Penang and the mythical island, Langkawi was quite memorable, and FUN! :)) It was definitely a week well spent with OHANA, and my baby :)) The first two days were spent at Penang, and Mugi's dad sponsored us to spend the two nights at the Travel Lounge. Thanx uncle :)) Penang was cool, especially the ferry ride to the island and the food hunt. I loved the cendol so much! Oh, we also managed to watch Social Network at Queensbay the night before we left to Langkawi. It was a serious, yet nice movie even though I was a little blur at first. I am a slow person and damn, he was talking like a trainnn!!! Believe it or not, Suraj was seriously overwhelmed by the movie and he got too emotional (?). He was suicidal! :P

At Yew Chong's place :)
We spent the next four days at Langkawi Island. It was quite worthwhile despite the over-budget thingy. Other than that, everything else was pretty cool. We stayed at this resort that I cant seem to remember the name, but it was really nice because it was located just next to the seaside, and we had four queen-sized bed. Lovely right? :)
We spent ample of time at the beach and played in the water when the tide was high and the waves were furious! It was a blast! In fact, even simple thing such as taking a stroll by the seaside during the sunset felt special. It was beautiful.

On our second day at Langkawi, we went for snorkelling at Payar Island and it was quite exciting. It was so fascinating to be able to witness all the beautiful marine lives just before your own eyes. I saw a cute clown fish among the sea anemones, the spiky sea creatures, glowing fishes, and many more. WOW, God's creations are unbelievable! Exhausting, but it was worth it. Also in Payar Island, we had so much fun feeding the fishes while playing a fool at the same time! Hilarious!
I sorta ruined the second night with my carelessness by accidentally causing my nose to bleeeeeed!! I hit somewhere, someone? It was not so serious, though. The pain alleviated and the bleeding stopped after some time, but my nose was blocked due to the clot. It got better the next morning, and I was so happy that I could breathe with my nose again :) Yeay!
Apart from that, the boat ride in Kilim was uber-cool. I, particularly enjoyed it, especially when the dude was speeding the boat and the strong wind was blowing against my face and my hair was going haywire. We went to the mangrove swamps, explored the caves and watched the eagles flying across the swamp area.

Besides, we also went on the cable car at Gunung Mak Cincang. The view was spectacular and I immediately fell in love with the blue sea which was glittering under the sun. The atmosphere at the high altitude was so fresh and scenic.

I enjoyed our last dinner at Langkawi simply because the restaurant that we went to was really nice, served pretty decent food and played cool music. And, not to mention the surprise that OHANA gave me and arveen after all the peculiar acts that puzzled me. Thank you so much guys, that was really sweet and lovely. I appreciate it alotttt! Also, thank you to the dude with the amazing voice who read the dedication and sang us the birthday song. We gave him some cake to show our gratitude and later on, he came up to me and arveen and personally wished us. So sweet of him! :)

On our last day, we checked out and decided to visit the Underwater world which was located not far from the resort. They were countless marine life displayed over there and most of them were breathtakingly beautiful that I wished I could be a marine biologist and study all those unique creatures in the sea. Some creatures were so huge! I took loads of picture until my phone ran out of battery!

We left Langkawi late in the evening via ferry that traveled straight to the Penang Island. The journey took us up to three hours and it felt really long, and we were basically freezing in the ferry. We traveled back to Butterworth and spent the night at the Travel Lounge again, the place where we spent our first night. Mugi fetched us early the next morning and brought us to the bus station. Me and Suraj were the last to board our bus, so we had to bade Arveen and Kavi goodbye and watch them leave before us. :( The journey back Seremban was ridiculously LONG, and it was the longest bus ride in my whole entire life! Omg, it took almost 9 hours before we reached Seremban as the bus stopped at a couple of stations along the way. Sickening, but I was really glad to be back home to a much needed rest! :) I had a good time.

"How far would you go to protect a secret?"

Heya, has anyone watched The Reader, which was released back in 2008 and was nominated for a couple of awards, especially The Academy Award?? Or maybe, read the novel? Well, I just finished watched this movie. I don't really know why I wanted to watch it despite knowing the fact that it was based on a literature novel. I am not really into this kind of movies, like you know, it falls in the same category as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Changeling and so on. Perhaps I wanted to see the role of Kate Winslet in this movie as she won a number of awards for that, including The Academy Award for Best Actress. Also, I don't really write movie reviews, but I just feel like just writing one for this. That's maybe because I am too free! :P So, here it goes, a short one.

Set during the period of postwar in Germany, this movie depicts various themes, namely love, compassion, secrets and so on. Eventhough at first, this movie portrays the eroticism and love affair between two people, a 15 year old boy, Michael and a woman double his age, Hanna,  it further unfolds its twists and secrets, and thus got better. The mystery begun when one day, she disappeared from the town, away from Michael without any explanation or notification. Few years later, Michael who was then a law student sees her on a trial for an unexpected, horrendous crime as a guard at a Nazi concentration camp. Overwhelmed by guilt for having loved a criminal, he was also surprised to watch her refuse to defend her innocence and willingly accepted the accusation of being supervised other guards. It was then Michael realized that Hanna may be keeping a secret that hinders her from defending herself, a secret that may be the clear explanations for her actions in the past as well as the present. The secret could help her at the trial, but it was a secret that she considered more shameful than murder. This secret, ultimately, leads to another prominent theme which was depicted in a subtle way at the beginning. :)
I wouldn't say that it was brilliant or regard it as one of the best movies that I have seen, but it was somewhat a good watch, and caught my attention. Perhaps, it's quite significant and deep.
