YouWillBeMissed, R.I.P

I still remember the first day of his Bio class last Spring, he was a man full of joy, laughter and smile. He made us smile too, and his classes were never boring. He perpetually helped us maximize our potential and assisted us in achieving good grade for his subject. I got an A-, thanks to him. He is indeed the best lecturer in the world. Who would have thought that he would be the one chosen by God before us? He passed away this morning, and when the news struck me, I was completely shocked. It was like a bombshell. I really thought, I mean, I was so confident that he would win his battle against Cancer, and everything will fall back into place and we would all see the happy-go-lucky side of him again. But, it didn't happen. He was so frail that he could not triumph over the horrendous disease. Life is unpredictable after all. It is short, and full of surprises, both sweet and bitter ones. I, you, we, all of us, complain every single day of our problems which can be so small but those people out there who are diagnosed with life threatening diseases and are fighting for their life has only one wish, to survive and live their life. What we are facing is nothing, NOTHING compared to what they have to face every single day. So, let us cherish the life that we have and stop mourning on simple and small hurdles that are present in our life. Just be grateful that you are alive today, and able to breathe in the air and watch the sun goes down on its horizan as the night rolls on to a new day. You live only once, so make the best out of it. Love yourself, your family, your friends, your neighbours, your enemies, strangers and everyone around you. May God bless his soul, and may he rest in peace. Thank you, sir. Thank you so much for all your knowledge, your guidance, your care, your laughters, your positive attitude that continues to inspire all of us, and your ceaseless warm smile. Thank you for being a good lecturer. I am so glad to have known an amazing person like you. Thank you for all your memories, we will never forget you. Your presence will be missed.

Will he be the One?

Wohoooo, being back home for mid-sem break has finally given me the opportunity to catch up on American Idol episodes that I have missed when I was back in Shah Alam. Damn, it's Top 12 already? Undeniably, they are all pretty talented or else they wouldn't have come so far in the competition. Nevertheless, my favourite is definitely James Durbin.

This dude has caught my attention ever since the San Francisco audition itself, and I knew right away that he will be one of the finalists for this season. Everything about him just makes me go wow! His passion, his charisma, his dynamic voice, his dual diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome and Tourette Syndrome, his tough and heart-warming background and his hardships. He has definitely earned the respect of millions and been making headlines with his music. J.Lo was so right when she said that he sings from feeling, from heart and from his soul, and in the process of doing so, he makes others feel what he feels. That's amazing. Nevertheless, it's still a long way to go before someone is crowned as the 10th American Idol, and let's just hope that it will be James Durbin. :) He deserves it.

In the mean time, my prayers go out to all the victims and survivors of the catastrophe, and may God guide them in putting back the pieces of the lives back together and help them regain their faith, happiness and well-being.
